The bushfire danger period for the Southern Tablelands, including the Upper Lachlan Shire, will commence on October 1.
The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has urged residents to complete a bush fire survival plan and ensure all members of a household know what to do if their home is threatened by a bush fire.
“With much of NSW in drought and a forecast of ongoing warm and dry conditions, there is the potential for a long and protracted bush fire season,” RFS Superintendent Peter Alley said.
