WEST TEXAS — A wildfire has burned over 23,000 acres in Crockett and Val Verde counties in West Texas since Sunday, April 19.
The Holcombe Road Fire is burning roughly 35 miles southwest of Ozona and, as of Friday, April 24, the fire had charred more than 23,000 acres and was 25% contained.
Firefighters were able to protect multiple structures including homes threatened by the blaze with ground crews and additional aerial assets dropping water and fire retardant. As of Friday, no structures were damaged and no injuries had been reported.
