The Bureau of Land Management is reporting The #NeiberFire continues to grow and is now up to 13,159 acres. The conditions are still hot, dry and windy. The Wyoming Type 3 team will take command later today. Firefighters from several agencies are working hard to overcome the challenges of the difficult terrain. The fire is 35% contained.
The Neiber Fire grew to 8,000 acres Wednesday. According to the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center, energy infrastructure and sage‐grouse habitat threatened. 5 LAT (large air tankers), 4 SEATS (single engine air tanker), 3 helicopters engaging the fire last night could not keep up with the spread. Terrain and ground access is difficult. The fire transitioned to an Incident Command 3 Team Thursday morning.
