Kohima: The Nagaland Government has requisitioned IAF helicopter to douse the major fire that broke out in the picturesque valley. Indian Airforce (IAF) has launched a Mi-17V5 helicopter for fire fighting. It is being said that the helicopter is equipped with Bambi Bucket for fire fighting in Dzukou Valley near Kohima.
A fire broke out on Tuesday in the Southern part of Dzukou Valley which is located at the borders of the states of Nagaland and Manipur in the Northeast Indian region.
On Wednesday, Nagaland Governor R N Ravi rushed to the Dzukou Valley. The fire has engulfed much of the Southern Dzukou region, setting the alarm bells ringing.
The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority years confirmed the incident, hours after locals uploaded videos of a burning Dzukou on social media.
