TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A wildfire burned nearly 1,000 acres Thursday in Jackson Co.
Sheriff Tim Morse says it started as a controlled burn north of Delia, and grew to encompass an area from 166th to 182nd near G Rd.
The Kansas Dept. of Emergency Management said in a tweet that Tanker 95 was dispatched to Jackson County to help contain the fire. Morse said the aerial unit mad a couple passes over the area.
