Kestrel Aviation were announced as the winners of the Excellence in Innovation award last night at the Aviation/Aerospace awards ceremony held at the Melbourne Museum in Melbourne Australia.
The company was given the award for their work in pioneering night time initial attack aerial firefighting in collaboration with a number of Victorian agencies, a system that now makes a critical difference in the states’ abilities to attack fires around the clock instead of only during daytime hours as fires have previously been fought.
Kestrel’s CEO Ray Cronin extended his congratulations to Captain Richard Butterworth and the entire night program team for their deserved recognition of the work that has been put in to develop this innovative capability.
The annual awards are hosted by the National Association for the Australian Aviation and Aerospace Industries and award winners are selected from a wide field of aviation professionals and innovators within the industry in Australia.
