Crews Tame Fire in Northern Brea

Firefighters gained control of a brush fire that broke out near homes along foothills in northern Brea on Sunday, Oct. 3.

A homeowner called firefighters at 2:06 p.m. after painters working on his roof spotted flames near a paved walking path along Canyon Country Road, between Grand Canyon and Oak Canyon Way, Fullerton/Brea Fire Division Chief Kathy Schaefer said. Brea fire crews arrived four minutes later.
