‘Fantastic’ to Welcome Air Tanker to Fight WA Fires

Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie says it was “fantastic” to welcome a large air tanker – which will help fight the bushfires in Western Australia – to Richmond air force base in New South Wales on Thursday.

“It arrived via Honolulu, Samoa and Fiji,” she told Sky News host Chris Smith.

“It’s already left … and is assisting with those Perth, WA bushfires as we speak.

“So, a fantastic outcome as a result of our government’s investment in ensuring that we have a national sovereign capability when it comes to that aerial firefighting fleet to be deployed wherever our fire chiefs deem it necessary.”
