Fire Hawk helicopter ready for fire season at Columbia Air Attack Base

A dozen experienced seasonal firefighters gathered Monday at Columbia Air Attack Base to learn and relearn basics about Cal Fire’s new Copter 404, the new Sikorsky S-70i Fire Hawk helicopter that cost $25 million and is one of a dozen Fire Hawks the state agency has acquired to replace its aging fleet of 12 modified Super Huey helicopters.
