Forest Fire in Philippines Continues Growth

The firefighters of the Philippine Air Force-Tactical Operations Group 1 and the Bureau of Fire Protection-Cordillera Administrative Region have been working tirelessly to contain a raging wildfire that started on December 22nd on the boundary of Bokod and Itogon. Despite their best efforts, the fire has continued to grow and spread due to strong winds.

The PAF-TOG 1 uses a Bambi Bucket, an aerial firefighting tool developed by SEI Industries, to drop water on the affected areas. A helicopter from the PAF-TOG 1 left Loakan Airport and scooped water from the Binga Dam in Itogon to drop on the fire.

The Bambi Bucket has proven to be an invaluable tool in the fight against this wildfire. Its ability to hold large amounts of water and be filled quickly and easily has helped the firefighters make progress in their efforts to contain the fire.

Despite the challenges they have faced, the firefighters remain determined to bring this fire under control. They have been working around the clock, using all the resources at their disposal, to protect the communities of Bokod and Itogon.
