Wipaire and Hartzell Introduce the New Yukon Prop for Caravans at Sun ‘n Fun

March 27, 2023 – “We are both happy to announce the completion of testing on the new four-blade carbon composite prop, the Yukon. At last year’s EAA Airventure, the prototype in our booth garnered a lot of attention, people wanting to know about its performance. This year, at Sun ’n Fun, people can see the Yukon on our C208B with a Blackhawk -140 engine conversion. We are ready to take deposits and, depending on the FAA, we expect to have our STC later this year” said Chuck Wiplinger, President and CEO of Wipaire.

“There is up to a 26% decrease in total take-off distance from land and up to a 31% decrease from water” said JJ Frigge, President, Hartzell Propeller, Inc. “This translates into safer take off and landings on smaller lakes and shorter runways” he continued, “cruise speed is increased at lower power settings, up to 2 knots faster, saving fuel while increasing speed. Another big improvement is in weight. Coming in at 137lbs, it is up to 19lbs lighter than other available props.”
