A wildfire erupted in Jerusalem in an open area located near the Biblical Zoo on Thursday.
The commander of Jerusalem’s ‘Habira’ police station ordered the evacuation of visitors from both the zoo and the adjacent aquarium, as the fire rapidly advanced, fueled by strong winds. Ten firefighting teams and four firefighting planes were deployed. As of Thursday evening, firefighters had successfully brought the fire under control.
