Uruguay Receives Aerial Firefighting Equipment from U.S.

During a visit to Uruguay by the Commander of the United States Southern Command, General (Army) Laura Richardson, the donation of various equipment for firefighting and humanitarian aid was approved. Shipping is equivalent to 1,000,000 dollars.

The donation consists of four helical Bambi buckets, which will be used to fight against forest fires in Uruguay, a scourge suffered every year during the summer. In addition, 50 self-contained breathing apparatuses were added for firefighters.
