Toll Aviation and ASU NVG Centre Brings a New Level of Servicing Excellence to Australia.

Toll Aviation and Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) have partnered to create an NVG Centre and provide unparalleled support and swift, efficient maintenance servicing and repair of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) for the Oceania Region.

In 2007, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia conducted a trial involving the use of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) by Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holders engaged in emergency response-type operations, which included rotary wing medical transport, search and rescue, and law enforcement.

The trial and the subsequent regulations were significant steps in integrating NVG technology into civilian aviation, and enhancing operational capabilities and safety during night-time flying operations. The use of NVGs is now common practice in Rotary Wing operations, enhancing safety and capability.

Toll Aviation and ASU have through the years been committed to developing aviation night vision capability through advancement in technology and training.  The addition of the NVG Centre to be based on the East Coast of Australia will provide the industry with access to regional lifesaving night vision solutions and products, supported and backed by the expertise of ASU, who since 1995 have worked with thousands of emergency response providers throughout the world in meeting their night vision needs.

Toll Aviation General Manager, Colin Gunn said “We have always had an exceptional working relationship with ASU, this formalised partnership allows us to bring a standard of excellence to the Oceanic region for NVG Users”.

Reflecting on ASU's role in helping to advance night vision capabilities in the region, ASU’s founder, Mike Atwood emphasizes, "Today, we come full circle, reaffirming our commitment to aviation night vision excellence and safety in Australia."
