Orange County Fire Authority Launches Two New Fire Hawks

In a demonstration held for media and local government officials, the Orange County Fire Authority officially launched the availability of their two new S-70 Firehawks completed by United Rotorcraft.

The two new aircraft that arrived unofficially several months prior, have been seen around Orange County in recent months as crews trained to both fly the aircraft and to work as crew members.

Monday’s event culminated in a speech by Orange County Fire Authority Cheif Brian Fennessy, speaking to the assembled media and public about the support given by the county to realize and support the need for added aerial firefighting capability and the massive effort it took on behalf of the county to make it a reality as he officially declared the two new aircraft as ready to deploy on firefighting missions as of Monday officially.
