Converse County Wildfire Demands More Ground, Air Support

CASPER, Wyo. — The LaBonte Fire is burning approximately 7 miles west of the unincorporated area of Esterbrook, which is about 30 miles south of Douglas, according to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Facebook page as of 1:50 p.m. Friday.

The fire is on BLM and private lands, and is currently estimated at nearly 500 acres.

The BLM, the U.S. Forest Service and local and state fire crews are responding in addition to air attack, including single-engine air tankers, large air tankers and helicopters.
