CCEM Director Russ Dalgarn reported this morning that more than 250 fire fighting personnel and “more equipment and engines than I can list” are assigned to the LaBonte Fire this morning. The fire is officially burning 2,967 acres as of 9 a.m., he said. (This number has changed from the previously reported 3,500 acres as of Saturday night.)

“Yesterday crews made great progress under red flag conditions with gusty winds in rough country. Crews will continue to strengthen lines and work on hot spots,” Dalgarn said.
In addition, Brae Rd is closed to the public to allow fire fighting operations to continue without additional traffic, he stated.
