Western Australia adds $10.1 million to expand aerial firefighting resources

The Western Australian government has committed an additional $10.1 million to bolster its aerial firefighting resources ahead of the 2024-2025 bushfire season. This funding will bring two Black Hawk helicopters, each capable of carrying 4,500 litres of water, to the state’s largest-ever firefighting fleet. Additionally, the Cardup Career Fire and Rescue Station is nearing completion, and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) has launched an early bushfire safety campaign, urging residents to use the “My Bushfire Plan” app for preparedness.
