Tennessee Army National Guard Called In to Help with Polk County Wildfires

POLK COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Army National Guard has been called in to help with wildfires in the Polk County area.

Copper Basin Fire Rescue along with several other departments including the USFS and Tennessee Division of Forestry are already working in the area of Sassafras Ridge Rd, Calvender Rd, and Stansbury Mountain Rd in Turtletown, Tennessee.

The fire on Sassafras Ridge is 65 acres and currently 80% contained, according to Polk County 911.
