Uncontrolled Wildfire Continues in Prado, Columbia

A large fire has continued to burn for four days  at three hard-to-reach points in the municipality of Meadow and threatens to reach some of the homes of the tourist population.

Work is being done on Sector of Las Brisas, Paysandu and Alto Misal, where members of the fire department, the Tolima Civil Defense, the National Army and the Colombian Air Force are working to put out the fire.

Felipe Barragán, Minister of Environment and Risk Management of Tolima, notes that high temperatures and strong winds have made it more difficult to control the fire.

The Bambi Bucket is operated by the Air Force on the fourth Air Command aircraft. The unit has dropped 334 gallons of water on areas affected by the fire, Work is expected to continue this Saturday.
